Apprentice Fitter
Based in Mareeba, Queensland, our Apprentice fitter will be responsible for scheduled servicing and repairs of plant both onsite and for our clients.

The Opportunity:
Based in Mareeba, Queensland, our Apprentice Fitter will be responsible for scheduled servicing and repairs of plant both onsite in our depot as well as on client sites. You will be required to conduct maintenance on a variety of plant and equipment including box and carton machines used by the growers and suppliers involved in the local primary industry. Training will be provided.
The Role
- Install, assemble, repair and service machines. Working on glue lines, roll-overs, conveyors, cylinders, belts, Air Compressors and other components. Change out parts, replacing bearings and other key components.
- Set up and fault finding on machines and PLC Programs to ensure smooth and efficient production is maintained.
- Management of supplies and spare parts, managing inventory, planning for preventative maintenance, and quickly responding to breakdowns.
- Assisting to formulate action plans and driving continuous improvement with systems to ensure they are efficient, transparent and deliver required results.
- Ensure appropriate compliance audits are conducted and issues arising to be rectified in a timely manner.
- Monitoring all outgoing material to ensure quality standards and safety compliance.
What you will bring to the position:
- We are looking for someone with a very strong mechanical aptitude who is wanting to start a career in Maintenance.
- You will be responsible for both scheduled maintenance and breakdowns.
- We are looking for someone with a proactive approach to work.
- A self-motivated and energetic person that can work autonomously.
