About the Opportunity
We are building a $500 million glass manufacturing and remanufacturing facility in Yatala just south of Brisbane. The factory represents the large investment we have ever made, we recycle up to 200,000 tonnes of Queensland’s glass annually to produce 1 billion bottles a year. We are building next to our box factory and beverage can plants, this will create a beverage container precinct to further support of customers and a range of new career pathways for our staff. The project is expected to be operational in 2025.

What you will do
As a Building Services Engineer, you will provide support and advice on the technical aspects related to the design and installation of industrial building services from pre-construction, commissioning to handover.
Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Manage and complete the building services design HVAC, active and passive fire systems, siphonic roof drainage and architectural elements.
- Lead design reviews, risk assessments, bid evaluations, construction support activities including RFI’s, drawing revision updates and change management processes.
- Coordinate the installation, testing, commissioning and handover of new building services.
- Develop “fit for purpose” fire systems design
- Verify that fire system products and equipment are constructed and installed in accordance with IFC design documentation and are fit for purpose.
- Inspect building works to ensure compliance and obtain occupancy certificates for all aspects of the project.
- Manage relationships with Construction Project Managers in supporting the interpretation of Building Services design intent and identifying solutions where challenges arise on site.
Your Experience:
- A Bachelor's degree mechanical engineering or a related
- Senior experience with building services on complex industrial building projects with top-tier Contractors
- Proven expertise in building services installation and management of the construction process
- Australian Driver’s License
- Demonstrate outstanding problem-solving skills
- Proven experience developing strong relationship with internal and external stakeholders
Desirable
- QBCC Fire Systems Certifier qualification
- Qualified FSD Accreditation
- Construction Safety Induction White Card
- Good knowledge of AutoCAD and Vault
- Recognized Member of Engineers Australia and eligible for registration as a CPEng
