Reporting to the State Manager – WA, Visy Logistics is seeking an experienced State Transport Manager for our multi-site operations with a solid background in Fleet & People Management. Based at our site in Canning Vale you will enjoy a hands-on environment working closely with the internal and external drivers, customers, and the wider Visy Logistics team. As an experienced transport or logistics manager, you understand the importance of distribution activities being performed safely, whilst ensuring that people and equipment are employed efficiently.

What you will do:

  • Lead and grow the relationship across our driver fleet both permanent and subcontractors
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with internal and external customers
  • Provide and improve upon a safe working environment for all employees, with a strong adherence to Chain of Responsibility
  • Oversee the scheduling of vehicles to meet customer delivery requirements, whilst maximising the efficiency of the dedicated fleet
  • Proactively review WA operations and identify opportunities to improve current processes and procedures
  • Monitor and facilitate repairs and maintenance of vehicles and equipment
  • Drive safety meetings, support audits and improve safety and compliance
  • Manage and control operational expenditure including P&L forecast & budgets, reducing contractor and labour costs, and efficiently allocating resources

 

What You Will Bring:

  • Proven experience in Wharf Cartage or a comparable role in Transport/Logistics Management is essential
  • Exceptional knowledge and understanding of HSE and COR requirements
  • Proficiency in Logistics & TMS software – Preferably Container Chain, MT Data
  • Passion for bringing out the best in team members and providing pathways for growth
  • High level of organizational and time management demonstrating an ability to meet timelines
  • Continuous improvement mindset to proactively problem solving with a solution focused approach
  • Analytical and data driven mindset
